Meets every third Sunday of the month at 2:00 p.m. at First Christian Church. All denominations and faith are welcome. After a shawl or lap robe are finished, they are prayed over and then
given to a person who is suffering either from illness, grief, or other
troubles,
with prayers said over the item for health, hope, and for God to answer
that
person's prayers. We also make baby blankets.

Every year, First Christian members buys school supplies for area school children through the Stuff the Bus campaign by United Way of Western Nebraska. In 2011, working with the Cooperative Ministries Council, United Way and Community Action Partnership of Western Nebraska, our church contributed over 300 pocket folders to help low-income students in area schools. |

Articles about Cat & Pup Packs
|
First Christian supports the Pup & Cat Pack programs in conjunction with both the Scottsbluff and Gering public school systems, CAPWN, Cooperative Ministries Council, and many area businesses and charities. During the peanut butter drive, First Christian provided over 200 jars of peanut butter for the children. Pup & Cat Packs are for area students who often are homeless and do not have access to a "family" refrigerator. Cat Packs go to students in Scottsbluff and Pup Packs are for students in Gering. |

First Christian Church are on the schedule
to provide meals at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church. We
provide home cooked, balanced meals such as we would provide for our
own families. "In everything, treat others as you would want them to treat
you, for this fulfills the law and the prophets." |

First Christian has participated with Habitat for Humanity several years, including in 2011, to build houses in our community. We have been involved with many houses going up, possibly in your neighborhood for your neighbors, maybe for you. Church members gather to dig foundations, build walls, paint, provide food, etc. The new owners of the house must provide sweat equity and also will be paying off a loan just like other homeowner. To help First Christian in this project contact Michael. For more information on Habitat for Humanity Habitat
